I'm 26 years old with very fair skin. However, many of my high school/college years were spent in a tanning bed. I've always loved my skin when tan but when it finally sunk in that if I kept tanning I would look like a prune, I luckily stopped for good. However, I always hated the way my skin looked. Very blotchy, often dry, and I still get pimples at 26! I've tried every product under the sun and nothing, at least for me has lived up to its promises! This product is truly amazing. When I first tried it, it stung my sensitive skin. I used it for about 2 weeks then stopped because I didn't think it was working. This particular product may tend to dry out your skin so as reccomended on the jar I usually follow it up with a moisturizer. I just use the alpha hydrox spf 15 moisturizer. Another bit of advice if you are looking to try these products ....the alpha hydrox website is so much cheaper. I got a whole set that included the souffle, spf 15 lotion, facial peel, spot lightener, and face wash for around $40 including shipping. Their site also offers a whole sample set of all of the products listed above for $1 a piece. I bought 7 samples to test out before I bought the full size products. Nothing is going to change my skin back to my 20's but this does a great job of aging gracefully. For those who have not ever had a peel I would not recommend starting out with this. The skin needs time to acclimate to salicylic acid like any strong acid. However, for those who have been getting peels of %10 or more I would recommend using this peel. Follow the directions precisely. This skin laboratory peel does not self neutralize (like perfect peel, which is much like the professional peels), so you can time it to where your skin has more absorption. I have used each peel for 4 weeks, rest 1 week in between, which is important to avoid sensitivity problem. The result from the combo is the worst. If you have acne, Salicylic Acid 20% Gel Peel works perfectly. It clears my occasional spots and whiteheads instantly. If you have uneven skin tone, large pores or fine lines, Glycolic Acid 35% Gel Peel brings about a much more dramatic and noticeable effect. The only criticism is my skin is getting accustomed to this strength and I don't see as much of that initial effect.
